Data Deletion Policy

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. Learn how to exercise this right and what to expect.

At Solar Partner, we believe you should have control over your personal data. This policy explains how you can request the deletion of your account and associated data, what data will be removed, what may be retained, and the timeline for processing your request.

Your Right to Erasure: Under applicable data protection principles, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. We will process your request within 30 days of receipt.

1. How to Request Data Deletion

Submit a Deletion Request

Send an email to privacy@solarpartner.pk with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include your account email address and any information necessary to verify your identity.

Identity Verification

For your security, we will verify your identity before processing the request. This may involve confirming your email, phone number, or providing additional identification.

Confirmation & Processing

Once verified, we will confirm receipt of your request and begin the deletion process. You will receive a confirmation email when the process is complete.

Completion Notification

Within 30 days, you will receive a final notification confirming that your data has been deleted or an explanation of what data was retained and why.

2. What Data Will Be Deleted

Upon successful verification, we will delete the following data associated with your account:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, password, and profile photo.
  • Profile Data: Company name, NTN number, city, region, bio, skills, and role-specific profile details.
  • KYC Documents: CNIC images, KYC verification status, and reviewer notes.
  • Bank Details: Linked bank account or mobile wallet information.
  • Job Data: Jobs you posted, applications you submitted, and job completion notes.
  • Transaction History: Wallet transactions, payment records, and escrow history.
  • Communications: Messages, notifications, and correspondence with our support team.
  • Ratings & Reviews: Ratings you gave or received, and any associated comments.
  • Activity Logs: Records of your actions and interactions on the Platform.

3. Data We May Retain

Certain data may be retained even after your account deletion, for the following reasons:

  • Legal Obligations: Financial records, tax documents, and transaction logs may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Pakistani law.
  • Dispute Resolution: If your account is involved in an active dispute, relevant data will be retained until the dispute is resolved.
  • Fraud Prevention: Anonymized identifiers (hashed email, IP address) may be retained to prevent fraudulent re-registration.
  • Aggregated Analytics: Anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., "5,000+ jobs completed") that cannot identify you personally may be retained for statistical purposes.

Transparency Commitment: If we retain any data after your deletion request, we will inform you of exactly what was kept and the specific legal or business reason for retention.

4. Timeline for Deletion

  • Days 1–3: Identity verification and request confirmation.
  • Days 4–25: Data deletion from active databases and systems.
  • Days 26–30: Deletion from backups and archival systems (where technically feasible).
  • Day 30: Final confirmation email sent to you.

In some cases, complete deletion from backups may take up to 90 days due to the nature of backup rotation cycles. We will notify you if this applies to your request.

5. Effects of Account Deletion

Before requesting deletion, please be aware of the following consequences:

  • Loss of Access: You will no longer be able to access the Platform or any data associated with your account.
  • Irreversibility: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use the Platform again.
  • Outstanding Transactions: Any pending jobs, escrow funds, or wallet balances will be handled according to our Terms of Service before deletion.
  • Impact on Other Users: Your profile and ratings will be removed from other users' views. Jobs you posted will be cancelled unless reassigned.

Before you delete: If you have an outstanding wallet balance, pending payments, or active jobs, please resolve these before submitting a deletion request. Unresolved matters may delay the deletion process.

6. Third-Party Data

We cannot control or delete data held by third-party service providers. If you have interacted with external services through our Platform (e.g., payment processors), you may need to contact those providers directly. Relevant third parties include:

  • PayFast: Payment processor — contact for transaction records.
  • SMS Providers: If you received OTP or notification messages.
  • Cloud Hosting Providers: Infrastructure providers that may hold log data.

7. Children's Data Deletion

If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal data and you would like it deleted, please contact us immediately at privacy@solarpartner.pk. We will prioritize such requests and take immediate action.

8. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your deletion request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority in Pakistan. We encourage you to contact us first so we can attempt to resolve your concern.
