What started as a simple idea to connect solar installers with customers evolved into a full-fledged marketplace transforming Pakistan's renewable energy landscape.
The Idea Is Born
Founders Bilal Ahmed and Zubair Malik — both solar industry veterans — identify a critical gap: Pakistan's solar market is fragmented, trust is low, and payments are insecure. Solar Connect is conceived over a whiteboard session in Karachi.
Beta Launch in Karachi
Solar Connect launches a closed beta with 50 installers and 20 shopkeepers in Karachi. The escrow payment system processes its first ₨1 million in transactions. Early users report 40% faster job completion compared to traditional methods.
National Expansion
Platform expands to Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar. Brand portal launches, enabling solar manufacturers to manage their installer networks digitally for the first time. KYC verification system processes 500+ applications per month.
